Did his prophecies come true?

Prophecy No. 3: Marsh To Hold Keys To Kingdom.

Details: Joseph Smith prophesied on July 23, 1837 at Kirkland, Ohio that Thomas B. March was chosen to hold the keys of the kingdom pertaining to the Twelve (Apostles).

In this prophecy, it was stated in verse 6, “for I, the Lord, have a great work for thee”. In verse 7, “for thou art chosen”. In verse 11, “I know thy heart”.

Facts

1. Thomas B. Marsh was President of the Twelve at the time of revelation on July 23, 1837.

2. He was an apostate 15 months later on October 24, 1838. See History of the Church, Vol. III, pp. 166-167. Letter from Sashiel Woods & Joseph Dickson.

Conclusions

1. The “Lord” who gave this revelation to Joseph Smith either did not know Marsh’s heart as He claimed or Marsh could do this work as an apostate.

2. This prophecy failed.
